Silvana Soriano is one of many fantastic A4L Teaching Artists.

Silvana Soriano was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Throughout her life, she has worked as a printmaker, painter, and art teacher. In 1980, Silvana began her studies in painting at the prestigious School of Visual Arts in Rio, alma mater of many prominent Brazilian artists. Wishing to further pursue a career in art education, she earned an additional Bachelor’s degree in art education from Bennett University in 1988. Her teaching experience includes unvierstites, public and private schools, and early childhood classrooms. She is also an exhibiting artist who has participated in solo and group shows in Brazil, France, Spain, Cuba and the United States. She has also illustrated and written several children’s books.

Since joining Arts for Learning, Silvana has become one of our most respected and requested artists in both early childhood and after-school, conducting several residencies in our Building Assets program. In the spring of 2012, Silvana launched our first class in our new Lewis Arts Studio in Coconud Grove.
