A4L Teaching Artist Beatriz Montanez.

Devoted to theater and to working with children and youth, Beatriz Montañez has been a Teaching Artist for over 12 years. Her Teaching Artist positions have included Lead Teacher with the East Los Angeles Classic Theatre; instructor with LA County’s Beyond the Bell; performer with the Big Apple Circus’ Clown care outreach program at Miami Children’s hospital; resident artist with VSA Arts of Florida literacy and early childhood programs; and Arts for Learning.

As an actress, she has received critical acclaim for multiple productions, including “Top Break-through Performance” by El Nuevo Herald for her rendition of Suzanne Delicias in “Josephine’s Bakery,”  a retelling of Jean Anouilh’s “The Orchestra.”  She has appeared in numerous stage and television productions, including the New Theater’s staging of Shakespeare’s  “Merchant of Venice,” “Real Women have Curves”at Teatro Venevisión Internacional, and NBC’s Journeyman. She has worked with South Florida Wolf Trap since 2010.
