Connecting children to community!

After-school and summer camp centers are the perfect place to help Miami's youth connect to their hidden talents and their community. A4L provides the arts component to already existing after school centers and programs. Professional actors, directors, dancers, choreographers, musicians, poets, and visual artists help students explore ideas and themes in their art making. From studying their neighborhoods and family histories to tackling tolerance, peer pressure, and body image, this approach moves beyond traditional arts and crafts and gives students the chance to use their knowledge in the creation of something uniquely their own. Our programs teach life and communication skills, support literacy and problem solving skills, foster self-discovery, and build self-esteem. Our programs give students a voice in their community!
